I guess the primary objective for obtaining unopposed centralised planning (globalism or any other form of socialism) is domination and control over the smallest entity (the individual). Absolute control over every larger unit or entity (from the family through to civil servants, small businesses, large corporations, etc) is then assured by default.
At this stage, there are just enough individuals who wholeheartedly reject excessive control over their individual choices and activities, despite the screws becoming ever tighter and the age/culture demographics slowly swinging in the wrong direction. How long the small but resilient human barrier to all of this nonsense will last and/or will they ultimately prevail over the globalist, central power (essentially ruling by decree) agenda is the million dollar question.
